Centene's real estate footprint drops by 78% over 2 years

Managed health care provider Centene Corp. has reduced its real estate footprint by 78% over the past two years.

That's according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, which was issued amid an activist investor proposal for the company to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

“Our flexible approach to work locations resulted in fewer employees coming into offices, with approximately 75% of our employees working remotely, which reduced the need for physical office space and daily employee commutes and led to lower emissions and energy consumption," Centene officials said in the SEC filing.
