St. Louis-based health insurer Centene Corp. announced plans to cut 3,000 jobs and 1,500 open positions.
CEO Michael Neidorff said the cuts largely would impact positions where Centene has “significant overlap” from acquisitions.
Centene in December completed the acquisitions of health care analytics firm Apixio and specialty pharmacy company Pantherx.
