Centene Corp. closed on its roughly $17 billion purchase of WellCare Health Plans late last week.
The combined company's health insurance plans will now have 24 million members in all U.S. states. That equates to 1 in 15 people living in the United States.
WellCare is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene. WellCare's shares ceased trading late last week.
