Centene agrees to $33M settlement in fraud lawsuit

St. Louis-based managed health care provider Centene Corp. agreed to pay a $33.3 million settlement in a fraud lawsuit.

Washington state officials alleged Centene subsidiaries overcharged its Medicaid program for pharmacy benefit management services.

“We respect the deep and critically important relationships we have with our state partners," a Centene spokesperson said. "This no-fault agreement reflects the significance we place on addressing their concerns and our ongoing commitment to making the delivery of health care local, simple and transparent."
