Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield issued a letter to state governors telling them to prepare for the distribution of a coronavirus vaccine by Nov. 1.
The letter indicated that through a contract with McKesson Corp., hundreds of millions of vaccine doses potentially would be sent to health departments and medical facilities across the country in the fall.
Industry officials reportedly are concerned that a vaccine distribution of that magnitude may not be ready in time. Others issued concerns that vaccines have not been fully vetted.
