Missouri Governor-elect Jay Nixon has named Springfield financial adviser Nadia Cavner as co-chairwoman of his transition team.
Cavner and two other chairs - Judge Ronnie White of St. Louis and former state senator and representative Philip Snowden of Kansas City - will work with Transition Director Charles Burson, former chief of staff to the vice president and assistant to the president in Bill Clinton's administration. Nixon's chief of staff is John Watson, who has been chief of staff in the Missouri Attorney General's Office since December 1997.
"This team reflects a great deal of professional, educational and geographical diversity, and I am confident these leaders will help me move the state in a new direction," Nixon said in a news release. "I look forward to working closely with these great leaders to ensure an efficient, smooth transition and to get Missouri moving forward."
Cavner is executive vice president and senior financial consultant for the Nadia Cavner Group at BancorpSouth Investment Services.
