Passengers of those planes are clients of the Nadia Cavner Group at The Signature Bank, which is holding its annual client appreciation dinner, beginning at 5:30 tonight at University Plaza Convention Center. Cavner expects around 900 attendees.
The keynote speaker for the event is Edward D. Perks, senior vice president and portfolio manager for Franklin Advisers Inc., who manages more than $43 billion in assets.
As many as 1,100 have attended past dinners.
At the dinner, the Cavner family will present $60,000 in donations to six local charitable organizations: Parenting Life Skills Center, Carol Jones Recovery Center for Women, The Kitchen, Council of Churches, United Ministries in Higher Education and Westminister College. The Cavners also recently gave The Kitchen an $80,000 gift.
Cavner, who manages about $300 million in assets, was selected as one of the top 100 brokers in the country two years in a row by Barron’s magazine, and she is ranked as the top investment adviser worldwide by Franklin Templeton Investments’ banking division.
The Nadia Cavner Group at The Signature Bank Investment Services was formed in September. She previously served with U.S. Bancorp for 14 years.
The move led U.S. Bancorp to file a lawsuit alleging that Cavner illegally solicited business to her new employer. The case is ongoing.
