The cave’s lead paleontologist Matt Forir and fellow researcher Nicole Ryan gave the same presentation in October, but space restrictions kept some interested participants from attending. The session tonight will be held 7–8:30 p.m. at the Chesterfield Family Center, 2511 W. Republic Road.
Attendees will have the chance to visit with dig team members, view and touch recently discovered fossils, and learn about volunteer opportunities at the cave’s new field house lab, dedicated Nov. 18.
Riverbluff is the oldest known fossil cave in North America and is being prepped for online live-streaming and high definition, fiber-optic capabilities.
The event is sponsored by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. Admission is free, but space is limited. The center is taking reservations at (417) 891-1616.
