An $18 million school bond proposal in Carthage won't be up for vote on April 5 due to ballot preparation errors.
First, the spaces for voters to shade in their selections were squares instead of ovals. When that was corrected, the language asking voters to approve the bond issue was omitted.
The next available date for an election on the issue is Aug. 2. The bond proposal is designed to a build a new performing arts center at Carthage High School.
