Bode was selected as one of three candidates to replace former president Max McKnight. The board’s previous choice, Sandra Allison, resigned Dec. 21 less than a week after being named president.
Earl said Bode’s education and qualifications were equally as impressive as Allison’s.
“What we had were three extremely qualified candidates,” Earl said. “We didn’t settle for our second choice. They were on a level playing field. We just had to hire one or the other.”
Bode previously served as economic developer for Edina and Shelby counties and most recently served as executive director of the Lewis County Industrial Development Authority. This is Bode’s first time in the director position.
