Carrington Auditorium

Posted online
Springfield Builders Inc. is the general contractor for the $975,000 renovation of Missouri State University’s Carrington Hall auditorium. Dake Wells Architecture is the architect for the project, which will convert the performance hall into a 375-seat classroom. The engineers for the project are Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Smith-Goth Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. A sound-absorbent cube encompassing efficient HVAC and lighting systems will be raised into the auditorium, and the bottom of the cube will effectively lower the ceiling and make the space feel more like a classroom, said Jeff Broekhoven, marketing coordinator with Dake Wells. The project is slated for completion by Aug. 5.
