Carol Jones makes gift to OTC Foundation

Springfield Realtor Carol Jones made a lead gift of an undisclosed amount to the OTC Foundation, the fundraising arm of Ozarks Technical Community College.

Jones, founder of Carol Jones, Realtors and the recipient of the 2009 OTC Excellence in Business award, made the donation in support of the foundation's Student Scholarship Initiative, according to a school news release. The gift will create a scholarship specifically designated for females recovering from domestic or family violence or with financial need.

"We are grateful to Ms. Jones for her generosity and her support of our students," OTC President Hal Higdon said in the release. "This scholarship will surely have a profound effect on the lives of the women who receive it."

Jones' gift brings the foundation within $610,000 of meeting its $2.5 million goal for the Student Scholarship Initiative, one of four campaign initiatives; others cover work force development, health education and student support programs.
