Carnival approved to set sail to Cuba

Carnival Corp., the world's largest cruise operator, has been given permission by Cuba to travel to the island nation.

Starting May 1, Carnival will travel to the country, marking the first time a cruise ship has been approved to sail from U.S. to Cuba in over 50 years.

"This is a historic opportunity, and we know there is pent-up demand amongst Americans who want to experience Cuba. We believe there is no better way to experience so much of Cuba in seven days," CEO Arnold Donald said.
