Carnahan Evans elevates 2 attorneys to shareholders

Springfield-based Carnahan Evans PC has promoted two of its attorneys to shareholders.

Shawn Battagler and James Meadows became shareholders on Jan. 1, according to a news release.

With the selections, Carnahan Evans has 11 shareholders, according to its website. The company ranked No. 3 last year on Springfield Business Journal's list of the area's largest law firms, with 18 attorneys and 44 total staff as of May 8.

Battagler, who focuses on corporate and rural electric cooperative law, previously was managing member of Andereck Evans LLC 1999-2022, according to the release.

Meadows was hired last year after working nearly five years at Omaha, Nebraska-based Kutak Rock's Springfield office, according to past reporting. At Carnahan Evans, his practice includes litigation and business law.

Carnahan Evans focuses on corporate, estate planning, litigation, tax, real estate and marijuana law, according to the release.
