Springfield-based Carnahan Evans PC is the best cannabis industry law firm in Missouri for the second straight year, the company announced.

Readers of Missouri cannabis trade publication Greenway Magazine voted for Carnahan Evans' medical marijuana and hemp law group, comprising attorneys Chip Sheppard, Jay Preston, David Olive and Kirk Kaczmarek, according to a news release.

"Missouri’s metropolitan areas are full of large and incredibly talented law firms," said Sheppard, chair of the medical marijuana and hemp law group at Carnahan Evans, in the release. "We are thrilled to be showcased as Missouri’s best cannabis/marijuana industry law firm, which covers all the issues confronting cannabis industry licensees.”

Carnahan Evans handles cannabis-industry services such as acquisitions, regulatory oversight, taxes, succession planning and dispute resolution.

Sheppard additionally served as a board member of New Approach Missouri, the group behind the passage of Amendment 2, which legalized medical marijuana in the state, according to Carnahan Evans' website.
