Who wants to go for a test drive when the temperatures are below freezing? Hardly anybody, it appears.
New vehicle sales were down in February, a drop attributed to the severe winter weather that plagued most of the country, according to the New York Times. Statistics from Autodata Corp. show sales for the month were flat, with 1.2 million cars sold, the same as February 2013.
General Motors’ sales dropped 1 percent, while Ford saw a 6 percent decline. Jeep and Ram truck sales drove Chrysler Group’s sales up 11 percent; sales of trucks and sport utility vehicles overall were strong, the report states.
