Cargill is laying off around 5% of its global workforce.
Officials with the Minnesota-based agribusiness corporation said the cuts are part of a long-term strategy “to strengthen Cargill’s impact."
Based on the company's 2024 annual report showing 160,000 employees worldwide, the cuts would amount to around 8,000.
