Cardinals sign Brett Cecil to 4-year, $30.5M deal

The St. Louis Cardinals signed pitcher Brett Cecil to a four-year, $30.5 million contract.

"Brett was the one person we thought if we were going to make a splash in the bullpen, he was the one we identified," General Manager John Mozeliak said. "There was a lot of demand for him and it was moving."

Cecil comes to the Cardinals from the Toronto Blue Jays, for which he had a 3.93 ERA last season.
