The Creative Learning Alliance has launched a $6.5 million capital campaign to turn a former Joplin library building into a science museum.
The alliance took ownership of the building on Wednesday.
"Joplin is a learning place, and it’s exciting today to see that grow with opportunities for young people and older people to learn and get excited about learning," Mayor Doug Lawson said at an announcement ceremony.
