Canbrands will save the city of Springfield $25,000 a year by collecting solid waste materials for use at its Springfield plant. The Canadian company, which began production at its facility in Springfield's Partnership Industrial Center in January, will use newsprint collected at city recycling sites to make cat litter and animal bedding.
