A Canadian investment firm has purchased nearly $2.5 million worth of virtual land. bought the virtual land in the platform Decentraland, with a future goal of showcasing digital merchandise in the metaverse.

Digital land is valued by foot traffic and proximity to brands within the metaverse, according to The Block.
