Canada lays out steps to ban single-use plastics

Canada has a plan in place to ban single-use plastics such as straws and plastic bags.

A ban on manufacturing and imports is slated to start this December. A ban on sales will start a year later.

By the end of 2025, the country also will ban exports of single-use plastics.
