Campbell posts sales slip, net loss

Campbell Soup recorded a slight decrease in quarterly sales and a net loss.

The world's largest soupmaker's net sales dipped 0.35 percent to $1.7 billion in the company's fiscal fourth quarter ended July 31.

The company's net loss was $81 million, compared with profits of $17 million a year earlier.

Officials called the performance of its fresh and organic foods "disappointing."
