California ranch adds thousands of acres of new olive trees

California Olive Ranch Inc. planted 2,200 acres of olive trees this year.

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, that more than doubles what the ranch planted last year for olive oil production.

Officials cited land purchases, new plantings and new grower partnerships for the increase.
