California has a new law: No more all-male boards

Posted online

The companies based in California are required to place at least one woman on their board by the end of 2019.

The law change also requires companies with five directors to add two women by the end of 2021. Those with six or more directors must add at least three women in the same time period.

This might be an insult to some women. i.e. the only way you can get on a board is to pass a law. Why not say, every board must have a black person, or an Asian person or ?????

So if a woman is on a board in California won't some people wonder, "Did she get on because she earned it or because they had to have a woman on the board." That would be an insult to some people.
