Calif. rules Uber drivers employees, not contractors

Posted online
In a decision that could have major implications for the entire sharing economy, the California Labor Commission has ruled that a San Francisco Uber driver is a company employee, not a contractor.

Uber contends the case only applies to Berwick, but others disagree. More challenges are on the way, as a website has been set up for drivers involved in legal suits against the company.
