Evangel University senior Brandon Snavely will perform his senior trumpet recital at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall. Snavely, son of Bruce and Becky Snavely of Republic, will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in music education. Snavely will be joined for part of the program by Evangel students Autumn Bennett, Abbie Benton, Matthew Saleske and Deryk Schudy to perform a piece for brass quintet by John Cheetham. The event is free and open to the public.

College of the Ozarks’ Chorale and Concert Band will remember the Beacon Hill Theatre in a musical tribute at 7 p.m. in the Royal Oak Forum of The Keeter Center on the C of O campus. First named The Summer Stock Co., the Beacon Hill Theatre was built in 1956 on the banks of Lake Taneycomo by a group of Greene County businessmen who wanted to bring tourists to the Ozarks. It was later purchased by the school, renamed and rebuilt near the campus entrance, where for more than 20 years it provided summer entertainment. The tribute concert, which is free and open to the public, will include selections from “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Oklahoma,” and “The Music Man.” For more information, call (417) 334-6411, ext. 4244.

Drury University’s musical revue troupe, The Broadway Cabaret of Drury Lane, presents “Broadway L’Amour – A Musical Revue,” directed by Robert Westenberg. Performances are at 8 p.m. April 12–14 and at 2 p.m. April 15. The production is a medley of song and dance celebrating more than 60 years of Broadway’s finest composers. Stand – Student Anti-Genocide Coalition presents Darfur: Genocide vs. The Prospects of Peace, at 6 p.m. in Missouri State University’s Plaster Student Union Theater. Guest speaker Hamid Eltgani, born and raised in Darfur, Sudan, will talk about the war-torn region and discuss the prospects for peace. The event is free and open to the public.

U.S Congressman Ike Skelton, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, will deliver “Beyond Iraq,” a national policy address, at 10 a.m. in the historic gymnasium at Westminster College in Fulton. It is the same location where Sir Winston Churchill delivered his “Iron Curtain” speech in 1946. Skelton will take policy questions from students, faculty and staff after his speech. National Hot Rod Association’s Tony Pedregon and Scott Palmer will visit Ozarks Technical Community College at 6:30 p.m. in Room 100 of Information Commons West. Pedregon, a funny-car driver and speaker for the NHRA, and Palmer, an Ozarks native and current Branson resident now involved in drag racing, will speak. Their cars also will be on display, and door prizes will be awarded. Tickets, which are $10, include dinner, and all ticketholders will get a hat at the event. Proceeds will benefit OTC’s automotive and technical programs. Seating is limited; tickets can be reserved by calling (417) 447-8120.
American Cancer Society brings Super Colon to Springfield. The exhibit – an 8-foot tall, 20-foot long inflatable replica of a colon – will be open to visitors 10 a.m.–9 p.m. at Battlefield Mall, 2825 S. Glenstone Ave. The exhibit will show simulated healthy tissue, disease states such as Crohn’s, colitis, polyps, and beginning and advanced colon cancer.
