Sept. 22

Missouri Career Center presents a recruitment event 9–11:30 a.m. at the center, 1514 S. Glenstone Ave. Attendees will be able to meet with local businesses and learn more about job opportunities and the hiring process. Attendees are encouraged to bring their résumés to this free event. Sept. 26

Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP presents its fall intellectual property seminar in the Starlight Room at The Tower Club, 901 St. Louis St. Registration and a continental breakfast begins at 8 a.m.; the program will run 8:30 a.m.–noon.

Topics to be addressed include patents, trademarks, key word advertising and fair use, copyrights and data security.

CoxHealth Auxiliary presents its $6 Sale to benefit its services, including equipment purchases for CoxHealth and scholarships for students at Cox College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Jewelry and accessories will be available for $6 each. Sale times and locations are: 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Sept. 22 at Cox North, 1423 N. Jefferson Ave.; 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Sept. 23 at Cox Walnut Lawn, 1000 E. Sept. 26

The sixth annual induction ceremony for Ozarks Golf Hall of Fame begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction at Clarion Hotel, 3333 S. Glenstone Ave. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m.

This year’s class of inductees is Chuck Greene, Karl Anderson, Kerry Speaker North, Don Gardner and 1946 Master’s Champion Herman Keiser. A pro-am tournament at Rivercut Golf Course will precede the event. Tickets are $135 for the pro-am, and players can buy banquet tickets for $25 apiece.

Sept. 27–Oct. 31

The Rutledge-Wilson Farm Community Park, 3825 W. FR 146, kicks-off the fall season with several events:

Harvest Fest runs 9 a.m.–9 p.m., Sept. 27–28. Activities include demonstrations of sheep shearing, horseshoeing, dog herding, spinning and weaving, and trick roping; Native American food samples and music, along with items for sale; and booths featuring woodcarvings for sale, face painting, grinding corn to feed chickens, and corn husk doll making. Bluegrass bands Lost Hill will play 6–9 p.m. Sept. 27, and Missouri Mountain Gang will play from 6–9 p.m. Sept. 28. Hayrides with Clydesdale horses also are available for $3 (ages 4 and older).

The farm’s first corn maze is open Sept. 27–Oct. 31. The 10-acre maze was designed into the shape of a tractor and offers two levels of difficulty, youth/adult and toddler/parent, both with separate non-connecting entrances and exits. Corn maze hours after Harvest Fest are 5–9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is $5, 12 years and older; $3, 5 to 11 years of age; and free for kids under 5. The maze also is available to groups; call (417) 837-5949 for times and cost.

A pick-your-own pumpkin patch is available during maze hours. Pumpkins are $4 each.

A four-week program called “Fall Little Farmers – Giddee Up! Round Up!” runs through October for parents and children ages 4 and 5.

Each program – scheduled for 11 a.m.–noon, Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25 – includes farm stories, craft projects and interaction with farm animals. Call (417) 837-5949 for more information or to sign up.[[In-content Ad]]
