MONDAY, APRIL 13

The Insurance Association of the Ozarks will hold its April meeting at 5:30 p.m. at The Melters, 1717 E. Cherokee. The guest speaker will be Dr. Jan Squires, CFA, SMSU professor of finance, who will be speaking on exchange rates. For more information, call 833-4693.

TUESDAY, APRIL 14

Safety Council of the Ozarks will present Conducting & Responding to Safety Inspections and Audits 8 a.m.-noon and Workplace Housekeeping, Materials Handling and Storage 1-5 p.m. The morning seminar will cover the approach, checklist and documentation for conducting safety inspections. The afternoon seminar will cover the importance of good housekeeping and materials handling. The fee for each is $85 for Safety Council members, and $100 for nonmembers. To register, call 869-2121.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15

West Merchant Bank and British American Forfaiting Company will present a seminar on the use of forfaiting to help companies develop export business 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hawthorn Park Hotel. A Strategic Planning Seminar will be held 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel. Instructor Duane Rohlfing will cover planning-process steps including: defining corporate values, analyzing driving forces and current threats/focus, completing a situation audit, developing a strategic vision, and establishing strategic objectives and plans. The Greater Ozarks International Trade Association will hold its spring meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn North. Speaker Craig E. Stevenson, senior vice president and manager of Commerce Bank's international department in Kansas City, will speak on the Far Eastern economic turmoil as it impacts the Ozarks area. International Trade: Getting Started will be held 8-11 a.m. in SMSU's Glass Hall. Staff of the World Trade Center, St. Louis, will discuss frequently asked questions about getting started with international trade. Discipline for Correcting Performance Problems will be held 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the University Plaza.
