Home-Based Businesses of the Ozarks will hold its monthly meeting at Melters, 1717 E. Cherokee. Jerry Sutherland will speak on the topic of Insurance for Home-Based Businesses. For more information, call 732-4151.

The Safety Council of the Ozarks will hold a Basic Industrial Hygiene course, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at its office, 1111 S. Glenstone. The course introduces the participant to the broad field of industrial hygiene and its application in the workplace. For more information or to register, call the Council office at 869-2121.

Associated Industries of Missouri will present a seminar titled "Year 2000 Liability Avoidance: Are You Prepared?" at the Ramada Inn. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the seminar runs 8:30 a.m.-noon. The cost is $85 for AIM/TRIM members and $135 for non-members.

The Greater Ozarks International Trade Association will hold its summer meeting at the Holiday Inn North. The Springfield branch office of the U.S. Small Business Administration will host a seminar 7-9 p.m. at the Kickapoo Prairie Branch Library, 620 W. Republic Road. The seminar will include presentations on SBA programs and the services that are provided by SCORE, including an overview on business plans and starting a small business, and information on minority and government acquisition programs. The Safety Council of the Ozarks will present Process Safety Management Requirements Under OSHA and EPA, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at its office, 1111 S. Glenstone. The course provides step-by-step methods of achieving compliance under OSHA's Process Safety Management Standard and EPA's new Chemical Accident Release Prevention regulations.
