Safety Council of the Ozarks is co-sponsoring "Planning, Preparing, and Conducting Safety Meetings." This certification program meets the requirements of organizations needing people with comprehensive safety skills. Class will be held 1 p.m.-5 p.m. at Safety Council of the Ozarks Occupational Training Room, 1111 S. Glenstone. The fee is $85 for council members and $100 for nonmembers. The Missouri Housing Development Commission is offering a first-time buyer training class worth three hours of continuing-education credit. This course offers Realtors the fundamentals of the MHDC's Mortgage Revenue Bond Program, the Down Payment Assistance Program and the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program. Lincoln University Outreach & Extension is co-sponsoring a child-care providers workshop on tax laws and necessary paperwork. Mary Solomon, an Internal Revenue Service agent, will discuss topics ranging from starting a business and keeping records to tax guides for small businesses. This free program will be held 6:30-9 p.m. at the Greene County Extension Center, 833 Boonville. Continuing Education credits are available. Seating is limited to 30 people. The Missouri Department of Labor workers' compensation seminar will be held at the Dogwood Inn, 1420 W. Hwy. 76, in Branson. Associated Industries of Missouri and The Taxpayers Research Institute of Missouri will present The Missouri Tax Conference, Thursday and Friday at Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake of the Ozarks. This conference is designed to help prevent the occurrence of unplanned tax collection by presenting the most current information on the constantly changing area of tax policy. The seminar is worth 10.8 CLE credit hours or 10 CPE credit hours. Registration fees are $245 for AIM/TRIM members and $195 for prospective members.
