Evangel University presents “Native Missouri,” digital photography images by Henry Domke, in the Fine Art and Design Gallery in the Barnett Fine Arts Center on the EU campus. Oct. 1–31

Brewer Science of Rolla and the Springfield Regional Arts Council present an exhibit of art from the Meramec region at the Creamery Arts Center, 411 N. Sherman Parkway. The exhibit will be open for viewing 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Oct. 31. A reception in honor of the exhibit will be held 6–9 p.m. Oct. 6. The reception, which is open to the public, will feature sparkling grape juice from Meramec Vineyards of St. James and appetizers from Bijans. The Springfield-Greene County Library District presents Rediscovering the Gillioz Theatre at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave. Speakers James S. Baumlin, Emily England, Craig Meyer and Paul W. Johns will discuss the history of the downtown theater, which was built in 1926 and will reopen in October, marking the culmination of extensive renovations. Friends of the Library’s annual meeting begins with a business session at 6:30 p.m. at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave. A special presentation, “Inside Publishing,” follows 7–9 p.m. Ozarks writers will offer an inside look at the writing trade. Panelists include Jim Hamilton, senior writer for the Buffalo Reflex; Paul Johns, executive director of the Writer’s Hall of Fame; Suzann Ledbetter, speaker and author; and Dusty Richards, auctioneer, rancher and author. Good Samaritan Boys Ranch presents a Fall Harvest Tasting Party with Chef James Clary at 6 p.m. at Clary’s Restaurant, 3014 E. Sunshine St. The event will feature a five-course menu that highlights the bountiful harvest of the Ozarks. Patrons will dine with Chef Clary and new Clary’s owners Dave and Lynee Fender. Seating is limited to 100. Tickets are $125, with all proceeds to benefit the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch, a residential treatment center for boys ages 12 to 18 who have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
