The family of a 19-year-old mother killed in a 2016 drive-by shooting filed suit against Cabela's and parent company Bass Pro Shops.
Filed by the family of Keshall "KeKe" Anderson, the suit alleges Cabela's was negligent by allegedly allowing a woman to straw purchase a gun and then hand it over to her boyfriend who was legally barred from buying a firearm. The gun allegedly was used in the Delaware shooting.
"Federally licensed firearm dealers such as Cabela’s are well aware that straw purchases are one of the main ways that guns end up in the hands of felons and dangerous individuals and that a straw purchase is a violation of state and federal law," lawyers representing the family said in a statement.
