College of the Ozarks has scheduled an inauguration ceremony for the school president who took the reins this summer.
Brad Johnson is slated to be inaugurated during an Oct. 13 event at the Point Lookout college's campus, according to a news release.
"The college and community have welcomed our entire family with open arms, and we look forward to building upon the strong foundation laid by the leaders who have gone before us," Johnson said in the release. "We are deeply committed to the values and mission that have made the Ccollege what it is today."
The inauguration marks the ceremonial beginning of the president’s role for Johnson, who started at C of O on June 1, according to past reporting.
Johnson most recently worked as vice president for institutional advancement at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. At C of O, he succeeded longtime President Jerry C. Davis, who transitioned into the role of college chancellor.
Prior to his time at SBU, Johnson had administrative positions at McMurry University, Hardin-Simmons University and two stints at Howard Payne University, all in Texas. At SBU and Howard Payne, he raised more than $57 million in cash gifts and managed $41 million in estate gifts, according to past reporting.
