BuzzFeed lays off 47 HuffPost workers

BuzzFeed laid off 47 HuffPost employees less than a month after buying the publication.

BuzzFeed also closed HuffPost's Canadian edition.

Jonah Peretti, CEO of BuzzFeed, said the cuts are meant to reduce losses at HuffPost. The company last year lost more than $20 million and was on track to do the same in 2021, according to Peretti.
