Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative this week acquired 34-year-old Pellham Phillips Architects and Engineers Inc.
The acquisition closed April 23 for an undisclosed amount, said Buxton Kubik Dodd President Brian Kubik.
He said the acquisition adds in-house mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services to Buxton Kubik Dodd, which serves as a commercial and residential architecture and interior design firm.
With the acquisition, Pellham Phillips is retaining its name as a division of Buxton Kubik Dodd, and founder Larry Phillips has stayed on as managing principal of engineering, Kubik said.
"He's committed to us for the next five years," Kubik said. "He told me he's reinvigorated already."
Kubik said about half of Pellham Phillips' employees were cut, and five were brought on board, including Kevin Conway, James Couch, Phil Young and John Luce.
The Pellham Phillips employees have moved to the Buxton Kubik Dodd office, 1531 E Bradford Parkway, from leased space at 1111. S. Glenstone Ave., Kubik said.
Buxton Kubik Dodd was formed in 2003 through a partnership of Kubik and interial designer Joyce Buxton. Jonathan Dodd came on as a partner in 2005.[[In-content Ad]]
