Busy Bee renovation

Posted online
General contractor John Moody Co. continues renovations of the former Busy Bee building in downtown Springfield for owners Tom and Nancy Dornan and Reg Condry. The approximately $1.7 million project is financed by Valley State Bank in Kansas, along with a city loan and tax credits.

The ground floor is being opened for retail, and the upper floors will house one-bedroom lofts and two-bedroom offices, some of which will be designed to have private entrances from the hallways into bedrooms.

Stephen P. Maslan & Co. of Kansas City is the architect and engineer for the project, scheduled for completion this summer.
