During its annual meeting and recognition event March 14, United Way of the Ozarks elected six businesspeople to serve on its board of directors.
New members are:
- Linda Ramey Greiwe, president and publisher of the Springfield News-Leader;
- John Hursh, CoxHealth vice president of human resources;
- Shirley Lawler, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs at Ozarks Technical Community College;
- Brian McDonough, KY3 president and general manager;
- Sylvia Propps, plant manager at 3M-Springfield; and
- Rodney Shepard, president of Arvest Bank in Springfield.
Retiring board members are Steve Edwards, CEO of CoxHealth, Kelly Weaver, senior operations manager for Chase Card Services, and Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College, according to Cindy Howell, vice president of resource development and marketing for United Way of the Ozarks.
The local United Way board, in alphabetical order, is led by:
- Raylene Appleby, board secretary and president of PJC Insurance Agency;
- Jan Baumgartner, board treasurer and executive vice president of Springfield First Community Bank;
- Greg Beck, board community investment chairman and vice president of purchasing for O'Reilly Automotive Inc.;
- Greg Burris, board chairman and Springfield city manager;
- Kenny Boggs board labor representative and assistant business representative of Teamsters Local 245;
- Gary Garwitz, board vice chairman and partner with BKD LLP;
- Maurice Henry, board past chairman and retired senior vice president of Associated Wholesale Grocers;
- Todd Parnell, board campaign chairman and president of Drury University; and
- Paul Williams, board associate campaign chairman and chief of Police for Springfield.
