The Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center set a new record, securing more than $170 in million government contracts for its business clients in fiscal year 2005.

The center’s previous record was $96 million in contracts, set in 2003.

For the fiscal year which ended Sept. 30, the center received 1,129 contracts with federal, state and local governments for Missouri businesses. Agencies who awarded contracts include the federal Defense and Energy departments, state Corrections and Transportation departments and a number of local government offices.

The center is an extension of the University of Missouri and assists businesses in identifying government contracting opportunities. The center’s counselors also help client firms complete appropriate forms, understand regulations and fulfill registrations and certifications necessary for contracts.
