United Way is using its Day of Caring model to coordinate volunteers to clean up debris from January’s ice storm. Volunteers are needed to work one or more half-day or full-day shifts.
Teams of six people are recommended, but smaller teams will be paired with other volunteers if necessary.
To volunteer, go to www.uwozarks.com and download volunteer registration and waiver forms. Fax completed registration forms to AmeriCorps at (417) 869-6654. Then, to schedule a time to pick up assignments and return the waiver forms, call AmeriCorps at (417) 829-6561.
The sign-up deadline is Feb. 21.
The initiative is a collaboration between United Way of the Ozarks, the Office of Emergency Management, the city of Springfield, Greene County, AmeriCorps and Community Partnership/Caring Communities.
