Robert and Lawana Low, owners and operators of Springfield-based Prime Inc., have made the donation. In recognition of the gift, the school will name the arena’s 4,500-square-foot club Prime Overtime.
The club, located at the east end of the arena, will have a view of the playing floor and access to private seating. Memberships will be sold.
“There is a natural affinity between Prime Inc. and Missouri State University Athletics,” Robert Low said in a news release. “We both aspire to be the best, and this facility will help in the continued success of men’s and women’s basketball programs. We are proud to be part of this exciting project.”
The $67 million arena will have more than 11,000 seats, a grand entrance, 22 private suites, more than 100 mid-level loge seats, 55 courtside seats, a Hall of Fame, a team souvenir store and a ticket office. Ground-breaking for the project, located east of Hammons Student Center, is scheduled for December, with completion targeted for November 2008.
