Posted online
The Grainger Foundation has donated $27,500 to Ozarks Technical Community College's fundraising arm, the OTC Foundation.

The foundation, a independent and private foundation based out of Lake Forest, Ill., was established in 1949 by William Grainger, the founder of W.W. Grainger Inc.. Michael Riley, branch manager of W.W. Grainger Inc.'s Springfield branch at 808 N. Cedarbrook Ave., recommended the foundation donate to OTC, according to a news release.

The gift supports OTC's Middle College program, which helps underachieving students finish high school and earn free college credit. The funding will be used to add a computer lab for the Middle College.

"We are proud to recommend the programs offered by Ozarks Technical Community College. We understand the need for opportunities like the Middle College in Springfield and its surrounding areas," Riley said in the release.

W.W. Grainger, which recorded 2011 sales of $8.1 billion, provides maintenance, repair and operating products, such as adhesives, hardware, and fleet and vehicle maintenance, according to its website.[[In-content Ad]]
