Burrell Behavioral Health has promoted an existing employee to CEO.
Mat Gass, currently the behavioral health organization's central region president, is scheduled to become CEO on July 1, according to a news release. He'll succeed C.J. Davis, who will remain CEO of Burrell parent company Brightli Inc.
With 25 years of behavioral health care experience and 15 years at Burrell, Gass will be the third CEO at Burrell since it was founded in 1977.
"This is the most humbling experience I could ever imagine, to join an organization as a social worker almost 15 years ago with the belief that community should be at the core of everything we do to leading that organization into the future,” Gass said in the release.
Davis took over as CEO in 2017 for founding Burrell executive Todd Schaible.
Since early 2022, Davis also has served as CEO of Brightli Inc., which was formed through the combination of Burrell Behavioral Health and Preferred Family Healthcare Inc., according to past reporting.
