Burlington to shutter e-commerce site

Posted online

Burlington Stores Inc. announced it will shutter its e-commerce site.

CEO Michael O’Sullivan told investors the site only brought in 0.5% of the company's total sales. The website instead will be used as a marketing tool “to increase brand engagement and drive traffic to our stores while continuing to invest in our growing retail footprint,” a Burlington spokesperson said.

In Springfield, Burlington plans to open a second local storefront at the former JCPenney Home Store this fall at Primrose Marketplace.
