Fast-food chain Burger King is testing a new vegan burger at 59 restaurants in the St. Louis area.
Called the Impossible Whopper, the sandwich uses plant-based meats produced with a genetically modified yeast.
Redwood City, California-based Impossible Foods, the supplier of the patties, also is planning to sell its products in grocery stores, pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
