Burger King owner's profits more than double

Restaurant Brands International, the owner of Burger King and Tim Hortons, more than doubled its quarterly net income to $118.4 million.

In the same quarter a year earlier, the company took a $37 million hit when it merged Burger King and Tim Hortons.

The Oakville, Ontario-based company's revenue rose 5 percent to $1.1 billion.
