Burger King owner Restaurant Brands International penned a deal to buy the fast-food chain's largest U.S. franchisee.
The deal for Carrols, the operator of more than 1,000 Burger King stores, comprises $1 billion in cash.
Officials expect the deal to be completed in the second quarter.
