Burger King Japan unveils all-black burger

Posted online
What goes better with a burger than ketchup and mustard? In Japan, the correct answer is squid ink and bamboo charcoal.

At least Burger King thinks so.

The fast-food restaurant unveiled its Kuro Burger in the island country, and contrary to the idealized American vision of green lettuce, a soft and golden bun and melty cheese, this burger is black – all black.

USA Today reports the Kuro Burger has bread and cheese, both blackened by bamboo charcoal, and a special sauce made from squid ink. Customers can order either the Diamond or the Pearl versions of the sandwich, noted for Diamond's increased amount of toppings on the patty.

Sound good? You'll have to make a trip to Japan to enjoy the darkened delicacy, because, for now, the king of burgers has no plans to bring the burger stateside.
