Burger King 2Q profit rises 19%

Burger King's net income rose 19 percent in the second quarter, the company said Friday, beating analysts' expectations as the fast-food chain saw positive sales across every region in which it does business.

The Miami, Fla.-based company reported $75.1 million profits, up from $62.9 million a year earlier, according to USA Today.

"We ended the first half of the year strong as we grew comparable sales across all four regions and accelerated restaurant openings," CEO Daniel Schwartz said in a release.
