Owner Steve Branstetter closed the 4,661-square-foot restaurant, 2400 N. 20th St., and a second Bumsteads in Branson two weeks ago to consolidate operations at the restaurant’s Nixa location, according to kitchen manager Ezra Rudick. Branstetter was not available for comment.
Mickey Duckett Professional Auctioneers is handling the auction, which includes $260,000 worth of antiques and collectibles, restaurant equipment, two barbecue smokers and an outdoor barbecue pit. The building is located on 1.5 acres and has a 900-square-foot two-bedroom apartment above an oversized garage.
The restaurant seats 70 people, and its banquet area seats up to 100.
The winning bidder is required to pay 10 percent of the price today, with the balance due Dec. 7.
